Annapurna Circuit

The Annapurna Circuit Trek is widely regarded as one of the most stunning trekking routes in the world. This classic trek offers a remarkable variety of landscapes and cultures, taking you through lush subtropical valleys to the high, arid regions of northern Nepal. Starting in the Marsyangdi Valley, you’ll pass through villages inhabited by indigenous Gurung and Thakali communities, before heading north into the Buddhist territories that border the Tibetan plateau.

The trek begins with an easy trail that winds through suspension bridges, terraced rice fields, and dense subtropical forests, gradually offering closer views of the towering, snow-capped peaks of the Annapurna Range (including Annapurna II, III, and IV).As you ascend, the landscape transitions from lush greenery to more rugged terrain, with forests of pinejuniper, and rhododendron giving way to expansive glacial moraines sculpted into striking pillars by wind erosion.

One of the major highlights of the Annapurna Circuit is crossing the Thorong La Pass (5,415m), one of the highest trekking passes in the world, offering spectacular panoramic views of the Himalayas. The trek also takes you to Muktinath, a revered pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists, where you’ll experience the spiritual atmosphere and unique customs. The trek culminates with a visit to Jomsom, a remote town known for its mule caravans and distinctive local culture.

Throughout the trek, you’ll encounter a blend of natural beauty, cultural richness, and adventure, making it a journey filled with excitement, challenges, and unforgettable experiences. Itinerary

Day 01 :
Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m)

Arrive in Kathmandu, where you’ll be welcomed by an Adventure Bound representative and transferred to your hotel. Rest after your long journey and prepare for your upcoming adventure.

Day 02 :
Sightseeing in Kathmandu & Trek Preparation

Explore the cultural heritage of Kathmandu Valley today. Visit iconic UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple)Pashupatinath TempleBoudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. In the afternoon, attend a trek briefing and finalize preparations for your Annapurna Circuit trek.

Day 03 :
Drive to Bulbule by Local Bus (820m) – 9 Hours

Early morning, embark on a 9-hour scenic drive from Kathmandu to Bulbule (820m). The drive takes you through picturesque landscapes, small villages, and terraced fields, offering views of the lower Himalayas. Upon arrival, check in at your teahouse and rest for the night.

Day 04 :
Trek to Bahundanda (1,270m)

From Bulbule, begin your trek to Bahundanda, passing through charming villages and lush terraced fields. The trail offers great views of the surrounding hills and mountains as you gain elevation slowly. Overnight stay in Bahundanda.

Day 05 :
Trek to Chamche (1,385m)

Today, you’ll trek through dense forests and cross several suspension bridges as you descend to Chamche. The walk offers scenic views of the Marsyangdi River and its tributaries, with a gradual ascent as you continue toward higher altitudes.

Day 06 :
Trek to Dharapani (1,900m)

As you trek toward Dharapani, you’ll pass through a few Gurung and Manangi villages, where you can experience the local culture and hospitality. The landscape transitions from subtropical to more alpine terrain as you gain altitude.

Day 07 :
Trek to Chame (2,670m)

Today’s trek takes you to Chame, the administrative center of the Manang District. The route offers fantastic views of the Lamjung Himal and Annapurna II. As you gain elevation, the landscape changes to a mix of pine forests and alpine meadows.

Day 08 :
Trek to Lower Pisang (3,250m)

You’ll leave Chame and trek toward Lower Pisang, passing through more dense forests and small villages. The views of Annapurna IIIII, and IV become more spectacular as you approach Pisang, a traditional Manangi village.

Day 09 :
Trek to Manang (3,540m)

Continue on the trail to Manang, a large village known for its traditional Tibetan culture and Buddhist monasteries. This is a good point to rest and acclimatize, as you’re nearing the higher altitudes of the trek.

Day 10 :
Acclimatization Day in Manang

Take the day to acclimatize to the higher altitude and explore the surroundings. You can hike to Gangapurna Lake or take a short trek to Praken Monastery for panoramic views of GangapurnaAnnapurna III, and Himalchuli.

Day 11 :
Trek to Yakkharka (4,014m)

From Manang, trek toward Yakkharka, passing through sparse forests and high-altitude landscapes. As you approach Yakkharka, the views of Annapurna II and Gangapurna are incredible. Overnight in Yakkharka.

Day 12 :
Trek to Thorong Phedi (4,450m)

Today’s trek takes you to Thorong Phedi, the base camp for Thorong La Pass. The trail gets steeper as you approach higher altitudes, so take your time and enjoy the changing landscapes. This will be your final stop before the big push to Thorong La Pass.

Day 13 :
Trek to Thorong La Pass (5,416m), then to Muktinath (3,800m) – 9 Hours of Walking

The most challenging and rewarding day of the trek! Start early to tackle the Thorong La Pass (5,416m). The climb is demanding, but the views from the top are awe-inspiring, with 360-degree panoramas of the Himalayas. After descending, you’ll reach Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists. Spend the night in Muktinath.

Day 14 :
Trek to Kagbeni (2,800m)

From Muktinath, descend toward Kagbeni, a unique village located in the Mustang Region. Kagbeni is known for its Tibetan-style architecture and its stunning views of the Nilgiri Peaks. The trail offers a mix of desert-like terrain and alpine forests.

Day 15 :
Trek to Marpha (2,670m)

Continue your trek down to Marpha, a picturesque village famous for its apple orchards and traditional stone houses. The village has a distinct Tibetan influence, and the surrounding apple orchards make for a relaxing atmosphere after several days of trekking.

Day 16 :
Trek to Ghasa (2,010m)

From Marpha, the trail descends through deep valleys and forests, following the Kali Gandaki RiverGhasa is a small village that offers great views of the Dhaulagiri Range. It’s a peaceful stop with a pleasant climate. 

Day 17 :
Trek to Tatopani (1,190m)

Today, you’ll descend to Tatopani, known for its hot springs. After several days of trekking at high altitudes, the hot springs are a welcome and relaxing treat for your muscles. You’ll have time to soak and enjoy the serene environment.

Day 18 :
Trek to Shikha (2,830m)

After a relaxing morning in Tatopani, continue your trek to Shikha, a small village with fantastic views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. The walk today takes you through lush forests and small traditional villages.

Day 19 :
Trek to Ghorepani (2,750m)

From Shikha, trek to Ghorepani, a popular stop on the Annapurna Circuit. The trail offers beautiful views of MachhapuchhreAnnapurna, and Dhaulagiri. Ghorepani is known for its proximity to Poon Hill, one of the best viewpoints in the region.

Day 20 :
Trek to Poon Hill (3,200m) for Sunrise, then to Tadapani (2,590m)

Start early to hike to Poon Hill for a stunning sunrise view over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Afterward, descend and continue your trek to Tadapani, passing through forests of rhododendron and oak. Stay overnight in Tadapani.

Day 21 :
Trek to Ghandruk (1,940m)

From Tadapani, continue your trek to Ghandruk, a beautiful Gurung village offering spectacular views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre. The village is a perfect place to explore and learn about the local culture and traditions.

Day 22 :
Trek to Birethanti (1,025m), then Drive Back to Pokhara (2 Hours)

Trek down to Birethanti, passing through dense forests and several small villages. From Birethanti, take a 2-hour drive back to Pokhara, where you can relax by the lakeside and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Day 23 :
Drive Back to Kathmandu (6 Hours)

After breakfast, take a 6-hour drive back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel, where you can relax and reflect on your amazing Annapurna Circuit adventure.
