Itinerary
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by your trekking guide or tour representative. You will be transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu, where you can relax after your journey.
Spend the day exploring some of Kathmandu’s famous landmarks, such as Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple): A UNESCO World Heritage site offering panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley, Boudhanath Stupa: One of the largest stupas in Nepal, known for its Tibetan Buddhist significance, Pashupatinath Temple: The most sacred Hindu temple in Nepal, located on the banks of the Bagmati River, and Kathmandu Durbar Square: A historic site showcasing Nepalese architecture and culture.
You will then meet with your guide to review the itinerary, check your gear, and make any necessary last-minute arrangements for the trek. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
After breakfast, you will begin your drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the starting point of your trek. The drive takes around 8-9 hours and is scenic, passing through rural villages, terraced fields, and the beautiful Trishuli River valley. As you approach Syabrubesi, you will get glimpses of the Himalayan foothills. In Syabrubesi, a small village that serves as a gateway to the Langtang Valley.
Today, your trek begins. The trail follows the Bhote Koshi River, climbing through dense forests of rhododendron, oak, and bamboo. As you walk, you may encounter local wildlife, including monkeys and various bird species. The trail gradually ascends, and you will reach Lama Hotel, a small settlement located at 2380m, where you will stay for the night.
Today, you will continue your ascent through more picturesque landscapes. The trail takes you higher into the Langtang Valley, where the surrounding peaks start to come into view. As you enter the valley, you’ll pass through traditional Tamang villages like Ghodatabela, and the valley opens up with stunning views of the Langtang Lirung (7246m), the highest peak in the region. The journey today takes you to the Kyanjin Gompa, a beautiful Tibetan Buddhist monastery located at 3900m. Along the way, the valley becomes more rugged, and you will enjoy stunning views of surrounding peaks such as Langtang Lirung, Yala Peak, and others. At Kyanjin Gompa, you will visit the monastery and have time to explore the village, which offers incredible views of the Langtang Glacier. Overnight Stay at Kyanjin Gompa.
After a rest day in Kyanjin Gompa, you will trek to Kyimjung Glacier, which offers spectacular close-up views of the Langtang Glacier. The trail leads you further into the alpine zone, offering dramatic vistas of ice and snow-covered peaks. The trek is short but rewarding, as you get a unique opportunity to explore the glacier area. Today, you will go further into the valley to visit the Langtang Glacier. The Langtang Glacier is a magnificent sight, and you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and the icefall that feeds the glacier. This is a day to explore the upper Langtang Valley, where you’ll be surrounded by towering mountains and glaciers. Overnight Stay at Kyanjin Gompa.
After exploring the Langtang Glacier and Kyanjin Gompa, you will retrace your steps back down the valley. The descent is much quicker than the ascent, but you’ll still enjoy the scenic beauty of the surroundings as you make your way back through the forested trails. Overnight at Lama Hotel.
Your final day of trekking will bring you back to Syabrubesi. The trail descends further through lush forests and villages, with the views becoming more expansive as you get closer to the starting point of your trek. The downhill journey is relatively easy and gives you time to reflect on your journey. Overnight Stay at Syabrubesi.
After breakfast, you will drive back to Kathmandu. The journey takes approximately 8-9 hours, and you can relax and enjoy the scenic views as you descend back into the valley. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. Overnight Stay at Kathmandu.
Free Time in Kathmandu: Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time to do last-minute shopping or sightseeing in Kathmandu.
Transfer to the Airport: You will be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward journey to your next destination.
