Itinerary
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by an Blissful Himalayas representative and transferred to your hotel. After checking in, you’ll have time to rest and recover from your journey. In the evening, you will meet your trek guide and have a briefing about the trek, including what to expect in the coming days.
Today, you’ll explore some of Kathmandu’s most iconic UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. These cultural landmarks offer a fascinating glimpse into Nepal’s spiritual and historical heritage. In the afternoon, you’ll finalize preparations for the trek, check your gear, and review the itinerary.
After breakfast, you’ll take a 6-7 hour scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara by deluxe tourist bus. The journey offers stunning views of the countryside, with lush valleys, rivers, and small villages. Upon arriving in Pokhara, you will check into your hotel. The evening is free to relax by the lakeside, explore the bustling streets of the city, or enjoy the view of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) Mountain.
After an early breakfast, you’ll take a 1.5-hour drive to Nayapul, the starting point of your trek. From Nayapul, you’ll begin your trek to Tikhedhunga. The trail follows a scenic route alongside Buri Gandaki River, passing through small villages, terraced fields, and lush forests. It’s a relatively easy first day, and you’ll stay overnight in Tikhedhunga at a local teahouse.
Today’s trek takes you through a beautiful, dense rhododendron forest as you ascend to Ghorepani. Along the way, you’ll pass through a mix of Gurung and Magar villages, with views of the Annapurna Range gradually becoming more visible. The trek can be challenging, but the destination, Ghorepani, is worth it. It’s a popular stop with stunning views of the surrounding peaks.
Early in the morning, you’ll hike up to Poon Hill (3,193m), one of the most famous viewpoints in the Annapurna region. Here, you’ll be treated to a spectacular sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, with panoramic views of Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli, and Ghorepani. Afterward, you’ll descend and continue your trek to Tadapani, passing through more beautiful forests and traditional villages along the way.
Today, you’ll descend to Chomrung, a picturesque village nestled on the edge of a ridge, offering great views of the surrounding mountains. The trek involves a series of ups and downs, passing through dense forests and terraced fields. Chomrung is a significant point on the trail, where you’ll begin to ascend toward the base camp in the following days. Overnight stay in Chomrung.
From Chomrung, the trail climbs steadily toward Himalayan Hotel, passing through dense bamboo forests and crossing several suspension bridges. The scenery changes as you approach the high Himalayan environment. As you gain altitude, you’ll be treated to views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and the surrounding peaks. Today’s trek takes you to Machapuchhre Base Camp (MBC), the last stop before reaching Annapurna Base Camp. The trail continues through alpine forests, eventually reaching an open valley with magnificent views of Annapurna I, Annapurna South, and Machhapuchhre. MBC offers close-up views of these giant peaks, and the peaceful setting is perfect for an overnight stay.
This is the highlight of the trek! From MBC, you’ll make your final ascent to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), a stunning glacier-covered amphitheater surrounded by towering peaks. The trek today is short but steep as you approach the base camp. Once at ABC, you’ll be surrounded by a 360-degree view of snow-capped peaks including Annapurna I, Himalchuli, Machhapuchhre, and Dhaulagiri. It’s a breathtaking and humbling experience.
After spending time at Annapurna Base Camp and soaking in the majestic surroundings, you’ll begin your descent back. The trail takes you back to Deurali, where you’ll spend the night. The walk is mostly downhill, and the air becomes thicker as you descend, making it easier to breathe.
From Deurali, you’ll continue to descend through Bamboo. The path passes through dense forests and bamboo groves, and you’ll have more opportunities to enjoy the natural beauty of the region. Bamboo is a lovely spot to rest and enjoy a hot meal before continuing your descent.
Today, you’ll trek to Jhino, where you can relax in the natural hot springs to soothe your muscles after the long trek. The trail takes you through beautiful rhododendron forests, and you’ll enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the area. After a relaxing dip in the hot springs, you’ll stay overnight in Jhino.
From Jhino, you’ll trek to Ghandruk, a charming Gurung village known for its traditional stone houses and stunning views of Machhapuchhre. You’ll have the chance to explore the village, interact with the locals, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
Today, you’ll complete your trek by walking to Birethanti (1,025m), a small village near Nayapul. From here, you’ll drive back to Pokhara by vehicle (approximately 1.5 hours). Once back in Pokhara, you can relax, enjoy the lakeside, and reflect on your amazing journey.
After breakfast, you’ll take a scenic 6-7 hour drive back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll be transferred to your hotel, where you can relax and rest after your incredible adventure in the Himalayas.
