Itinerary
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by a representative who will transfer you to your hotel. After settling in, you can take some time to relax and acclimatize to the vibrant atmosphere of the city. The evening will be free for you to enjoy your first taste of Nepalese culture and cuisine.
Today, you will embark on a sightseeing tour around Kathmandu, visiting the UNESCO World Heritage sites like Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), Boudhanath Stupa, and Pashupatinath Temple. These sites provide a glimpse into Nepal’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage. Afterward, you’ll meet with your trekking guide, review your trek itinerary, and finalize preparations for the upcoming adventure.
After breakfast, you will take a domestic flight to Biratnagar, a bustling city in the eastern part of Nepal. The flight offers stunning views of the Himalayan foothills. Upon arrival in Biratnagar, you will transfer to your hotel for the night, where you can rest and prepare for your onward journey to Suketar.
In the morning, you will take a scenic flight to Suketar, the gateway to your trek. From Suketar, you will begin your trek toward Lali Kharka. The trail offers panoramic views of the surrounding hills and takes you through terraced fields and small villages. Upon reaching Lali Kharka, you will settle in at your campsite for the night.
Today’s trek takes you to the village of Keswa, passing through lush forests and fields of corn and millet. The path meanders through charming villages, where you will get a chance to observe the daily life of the local communities. Upon arrival at Keswa, you will camp and enjoy a peaceful evening in this picturesque setting.
Your trek continues as you make your way to Mamanke, a small village situated in a beautiful valley. The route is gradual, offering views of the surrounding mountains, rivers, and forests. Along the way, you may cross several suspension bridges and pass through serene forests. In Mamanke, you will camp overnight.
Today, you will descend to Yamphudin, a picturesque settlement nestled in a peaceful valley. This village is home to several ethnic groups, including the Limbu and Rai people. As you trek, you will be treated to views of the stunning hills and rivers surrounding the village. Upon arrival in Yamphudin, you will camp for the night.
Today’s trail ascends to Lamite Jungle Camp, a camp located amidst a lush jungle environment. You will trek through dense forest, with the sounds of birds and the rustling of leaves filling the air. The trail is steep at times, but the natural beauty makes the effort worthwhile. Upon reaching Lamite Jungle Camp, you will rest and settle in for the night.

Today, you will trek to Tseram, a small settlement located in the heart of the Kanchenjunga region. The path gradually climbs, passing through forests and offering views of the towering mountains. Upon arrival in Tseram, you will camp and prepare for the next leg of your journey.
Today’s trek takes you to Ramche, a base camp for the Kanchenjunga South Face. The route offers spectacular views of the Kanchenjunga massif, with its snow-covered peaks towering above. Once in Ramche, you will have an opportunity to explore the area and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Today, you will spend a full day exploring Ramche and its surroundings. You can take a day hike to nearby viewpoints, enjoy the views of the South Face of Kanchenjunga, or relax and absorb the beauty of the region. This day is dedicated to acclimatization and exploration.
On this day, you will cross the Mirgin La, a high mountain pass at 4663m. The trek is challenging, but the reward is worth it – stunning views of the surrounding peaks and valleys await you. After crossing the pass, you will continue toward your next destination, where you will camp for the night.
Your trek continues to Gunsa, a picturesque village nestled amidst beautiful mountain scenery. The trail is mostly downhill, offering a relaxing walk after the challenging pass. Gunsa is a lovely village with Tibetan influences, and you will have the chance to explore the local culture and lifestyle.
From Gunsa, you will continue your ascent to Khambachen, a high-altitude village. The trek is moderate, and the landscape offers beautiful views of the snow-capped peaks and rolling hills. Upon reaching Khambachen, you will have time to relax and enjoy the remote beauty of the area.
Today, you will make your way to Lhonak, a stunning location with incredible views of Kanchenjunga’s north face. The trek to Lhonak is demanding, but the dramatic mountain vistas make it a truly unforgettable experience.
Today, you will trek to Pang Pema, the ultimate base camp for the Kanchenjunga North Face. The trail takes you through challenging terrain, but the stunning views of Kanchenjunga and the surrounding peaks will make every step worthwhile. At Pang Pema, you can relax and marvel at the grandeur of the mountains.
Today is a rest day in Pang Pema, where you can take in the majestic views of the Kanchenjunga region. You may choose to explore the area further or simply enjoy the peace and tranquility of this remote place.
After spending time at Pang Pema, you will begin your retreat trek back toward Gunsa, retracing your steps through the stunning landscape. These two days of trekking provide the opportunity to enjoy the journey back and take in the scenery from a different perspective.
From Gunsa, you will trek to Kyapra, a small village located at a lower elevation. The descent offers scenic views and a chance to experience the changing landscape as you leave the high mountains behind.
Your trek continues as you make your way down to Sakathum, a village located in a lush river valley. The path is mostly downhill, with several suspension bridges and scenic river views along the way.
The trek continues to Chirwa, where you will experience the transition from the high-altitude landscape to the subtropical forests of the lower region. Chirwa is a peaceful village surrounded by terraced fields and tropical vegetation
Today, you will continue your trek to Phurumba, a small village located on the way to your final destination. The trek is relatively easy, and you will enjoy a relaxing walk through scenic landscapes.
Your trek concludes as you make your way to Taplejung, the gateway to the Kanchenjunga region. From Taplejung, you will take a short drive back to Suketar (2300m), where you will spend the night.
Today, you will fly back to Kathmandu via Biratnagar, reflecting on the incredible adventure you’ve experienced in the Kanchenjunga region.
After spending some time in Kathmandu, you will depart for your onward journey, filled with memories of your unforgettable trek to Kanchenjunga.
