Day 01: Depart for Lhasa
Embark on your exciting journey to Lhasa. Upon arrival at Gonggar Airport, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Lhasa, which is about a 2-hour drive from the airport. After check-in, take some time to rest and adjust to the altitude. This is a great opportunity to refresh yourself before settling in for an overnight stay in the mystical city of Lhasa, where the Tibetan culture and traditions await you.
Day 02: Full Day Sightseeing in Lhasa
After a relaxing morning, set out on a full day of exploration. Your first stop will be the Potala Palace, the iconic and majestic former residence of the Dalai Lama, perched on a hilltop with panoramic views of the city. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a must-see, with its impressive architecture, intricate murals, and serene atmosphere that reflect centuries of Tibetan Buddhist culture.
Next, enjoy a stroll through the Barkhor Market, one of the oldest and most vibrant market areas in Lhasa. The market is a hub of Tibetan life, with colorful stalls selling traditional Tibetan goods, religious items, handicrafts, and local food. Day 03: Visit to Drepung Monastery
On Day 3, visit the Drepung Monastery, the largest of Tibet’s monasteries. Once home to over 10,000 monks, Drepung is still a major spiritual center. Day 04: Visit to Sera Monastery
